| Catamount Quilting & Art Studio is located in the Manzano Mountains of New Mexico, among 5 acres of piñon pines, junipers and oaks, at 7,200 ft. elevation. It is just a half hour drive east from downtown Albuquerque.
I have over 30 years sewing experience; and I've been quilting since 1992. Doing "all the parts" presented a tremendous challenge as I worked on larger quilts--my sewing machines were just not built to do free-motion machine quilting on a large scale.
In 2003, when my husband and I were looking for a home in New Mexico, we sought out one that would provide me with the space necessary to house a long arm quilting machine. Once we had the space, I ordered my 12' Gammill Optimum Plus (with stitch regulator) from The Quilted Rose in San Diego, California. It arrived in January, 2004, and I haven't stopped quilting since!
From 1999 to 2003, while in San Diego, I volunteered my time at Rosie's Calico Cupboard to help make quilts for the kids at Camp Reach for the Sky (for children with cancer). Since January 2003, I've shifted my support to providing my services as a long arm quilter.
Currently, I am a member of the New Mexico Quilters Association and the Over the Mountain Quilters' Guild.
Thank you for visiting my website! If I can be of service to you or if you have any questions, please contact me.
